Dot was a mere speck in the right hand corner of the page. "I feel small and alone," said Dot, peering at the vastness of this world. Dot wanted to shrink from the page but where to, how and why were questions Dot asked. After an engaging conversation with Pencil Dot decided to find a micro place on Page. Weeks passed and nothing moved. There were journeys to the remaining three corners and a trip to centre page or stage. All were possibilites. Now Pencil had retreated there was no one to speak to about these exciting travel opportunities. Something else began to shade across Dot's mind. "What was Dot doing here? Was this life going to remain a permanent sitting meditation?" If it was there were other adventures Dot would prefer to explore. One day Dot realised there were choices to be made. Being rubbed out was one. Growth was another.

Both were challenges. Both required courage. Sitting forever in a corner meant procrastination. This was another choice but "not an appealing one" thought Dot. Being rubbed out was easy.
one whoosh and Dot would be gone. All sitting required was static Dot. Growth felt different. Dot imagined filling Page, one dot at a time. A question Dot couldn't answer was "what
would happen after Page was filled?" The whole notion of growth was frightening on one page edge and exhilarating on the other. So dot began to meditate about morphing other Dots. The day the first additional Dot was formed the original Dot did a Dot dance to celebrate. Some days Dots would appear. Other days the strain of this growth inhibited flow. Then Dot would rest until strength returned. When Page was filled all the Dots cheered Dot One's vision. This Dot completed page began to attract other Pages. Eventually there were sufficient Pages for a book about Growth. Years later a library was built to house every book that had originated from Dot One. Dot One appreciated the initial conversation with Pencil and the subsequent life developments, as Purpose kept expanding one Dot at a time.
