Our Approach to Meditation
Meditation
The health benefits
of mediation are now widely researched and documented.
Meditation is fundamental to life at The Shanti Mission Harmony Centres. If you have tried to meditate before but found it difficult, you can be sure that it will be much easier with us because of the techniques and manner in which it is taught. Our amazing teachers anchor strong spiritual energy, so you can ‘piggy back’ your way into a meditative state with ease and grace. Before long you are doing it by yourself. There are meditation sessions in all of our seminars and satsangs.
Meditation Classes
Classes specifically to assist the public to learn and practice meditation are held at each centre most days.
What is Satsang?
Satsang is a Sanskrit word meaning truth (sat) company (sanga). As applied within the
Harmony Centres it is a method of effecting group therapy through a combination
of sound and energy healing, meditation and instruction.
What happens at Harmony Centres is that people meet with the intention of transcending the usual consciousness and experiencing deep states of meditation. We sing a lot, using ancient chants as well as modern spiritual music. Music moves the soul and cuts through
energetic barriers which contribute to illness, dullness of spirit, suppressed
immune response and depressed states of consciousness. Deep healing has been
experienced by people who regularly attend our satsangs.
Participants receive group healing and spiritual teaching, focusing on practical ways of dealing with challenging life circumstances. There are opportunities to ask questions and hear inspiring words. It is a chance to focus inwardly rather than outwardly. Those who attend regularly find that their lives improve remarkably, they are more energetic, clearer in mind and healthier in body, and their understanding of natural Divine law comes to life in an unfolding self-realisation.
During satsang with a teacher students are welcome to ask questions. Satsang also may contain elements like discussions, varied forms of healing meditations, chanting, Pranayama, or recitations of prayers.
